PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2017
To be certified to referee Public High School games in Maryland you must meet ALL of the following requirements, including those of the MPSSAA:
1. If registering through CASRA, you must pay to CASRA $38 by check (the MPSSAA registration fee of $34 plus $4 for CASRA mailing and overhead costs) for MPSSAA registration and a copy of the Rules Book. You can mail payment to Garrett Tucker, 5333 Ed Prout Road, Lothian, Maryland 20711 or hand your check to a CASRA representative at a rules interpretation clinic.
2. You must attend one of the Maryland state rules interpretation clinics (see below for a list of locations and times where a CASRA coordinator will be present).
3. You must take the 2017-18 high school test online through NHFS's ArbiterSports portal. The online exam opens August 7 and closes September 1 at midnight. There is a link to the instructions below.
4. You must report your score to your registration coordinator though the group with which you will register, if CASRA, then to Garrett Tucker (contact info below).
If you want to work public high school games in the District of Columbia (all schools both public and private), Virginia or any other state, contact an assignor for DC, Virginia or the other state and send a request to MPSSAA to have your test grade certified to that state. You will have to meet all other local requirements besides testing. You may contact Garrett Tucker, CASRA’s registration coordinator at 410-353-2569 (cell) or email - garretttucker2000@yahoo.com for help in getting the info sent to the other state.
